It is that time of year again when we start asking for help with our Christmas Children project. We will be doing the project a little different this year. Since the Labor of Love Mission is being housed inside Clinch Valley Community Action’s building, we have been asked to join forces and combine our Christmas Families project with their White Christmas project and we have decided to give it a try.
CVCA’s White Christmas & Labor of Love Mission will serve about 300 underprivileged children from Tazewell County for Christmas this year, and no adults.
If Parents need help providing Christmas for their child applications will be taken at CVCA (across from the North Tazewell post office) Nov. 1st – 24th.
This year we plan to have a Christmas party for the children with dinner and Santa will be giving out nice treat bags filled with goodies.
As always we depend on donations to make Christmas a success for these needy Children, no government grants or funds are appropriated for this cause.
We are asking several things this year.
- Donations of store gift cards, Magic Mart, Wal-Mart & K-Mart, Sams, Food-City or FoodLion.
- Food items such as fruit, candy, cookies, cakes, & small toys or any item suitable for treat bags.
- Monetary donations.
- Ham, Rolls & Bottled drinks.
- New clothes & toys for children ages 1 - 17 years old. Rene & I will match appropriate size to child and appropriate age toy to child.
- Personal care items.
If you would like to adopt a child this Christmas if you will call or email, I can give you their information.
As always, I will pick up any gifts or donations and we will do all the wrapping. If your school or business would like to have a box to collect donations in the office or classrooms if you would call me, I will bring the box to you.
