White Christmas 2004 was an experience we will never forget. We served 209 families and about 450 children. We had two events:

  1. Pick up present day where we served about 450 children. Almost every child received a new outfit, shirt, pants, shoes and several toys.
  2. Christmas Dinner with Santa, which consisted of Ham, Chicken Fingers, Corn, Green Beans, Potatoes Salad, Mashed Potatoes, Mac & Cheese, rolls and two tables loaded with cakes, cupcakes, pies, fudge, cookies and marshmallow treats, where we served about 350 people.

Each child that attended the dinner got a stocking filled with toys and a stuffed teddy bear from Santa. Each child also got to pick a toy from the 2 piles of toys we had. After that we had a drawing where each child there "won" a larger, nicer toy.

Four tables full of books, toys, CDs, videos, and tea free for the taking was provided by Alice Brown's Christian Appalachian Project.

At the end of the White Christmas Dinner with Santa each family took home a bag full of food and each child got a nice treat bag full of candy.

Without the help of Tazewell County residents, schools and businesses this would not have been possible.

Labor of Love Mission is excited about this project and eagerly await White Christmas 2005.
